By chewing food slowly, the brain receives enough time from the stomach to recognise when it is full.

  • To concentrate on your dinner, avoid using your phone or TV as a distraction.
  • When you eat, sit down to better relax and digest.
  • Put your fork down in between bites.
  • Decide how many times you'll chew each time before you swallow.
  • Eat only when it's time, and give yourself at least 20 to 30 minutes after.
  • Remember that fresh produce contains a lot of fibre and requires more time to chew than other foods (hint, hint)
